I went to a wedding of one of my friends at work and she let us know ahead of time to come EARLY.

She is from the islands(St. Croix) and apparantly it is "custom" there to not only come without an RSVP but to feel free to invite as many people as you can fit in your car.

Needless to say, at the reception, they had to add several tables and her and her husband were out at the hotel bar enjoying a complimentary bottle of champagne(to ease the nerves) before they came into the reception hall.

Apparantly, it is not just Americans that are rude about RSVPS!
