We live in a 3600 sq. ft. house in Va. Beach and I won't tell you what we paid for it, but our taxes are about $2500 per year. We do own a rental property and we have the most fabulous renters-but it is a 2500 sq. ft. house and we get $2100 per month in rental. That house is probably worth about 425K on the selling market-we bought it 2 yrs. ago for 270K. We are torn-we can truly use the money now, but hope that if we hold onto it for a bit, that we will be rewarded. Right now, the selling market in our area stinks. It used to be the houses in our neighborhood sold within hours, but the house next door to ours has been for sale for 4 mos. and I have only seen three ppl. there to see it.
