Although we don't buy a lot of used clothing and furniture, we do try to cut back on "stuff" coming into our house new. For Christmas, one set of grandparents gave us a zoo membership instead of toys for the kids. This is great in my opinion...all of us will go to the zoos around the west coast and it doesn't get forgotten under a bed somewhere.
