Aren't you very puzzled as to how that creature ever got there?

I'm with you. I'm much more afraid of spiders (and roaches).

A few months ago, I opened our kitchen door to go out in the garage and a bird flew in. DH was actually afraid of the bird, so I had to get it out. LOL The only other creatures we have had in our house are lizards and tree frogs (DH doesn't like them either, so I have to get them too). One time we had a snake on our screened in porch. DH went to get a shovel and when he got to the porch with it, the snake was gone.

When we used to rent, we lived in a townhouse that was on a hill. The back of the townhouse was actually up on stilts and we had practically no insulation left underneath the floor (it was freezing in the winter and we had keep shoes on). We used to hear something scratching on our downstairs bathtub from underneath and just assumed that a cat had gotten up there to stay warm. One night I went outside with a flashlight to look and see what it was for sure. There was lattice along the side of the townhouse and when I got down even with where the bathtub was, I put my face right up to the lattice and shined the flashlight underneath to get a good look. There was a giant possum staring back at me about a foot from my face! I screamed and jumped back. When our landlord finally had the insulation replaced underneath the townhouse, the possum moved to a tree right outside of our kitchen window.
