I could probably go a year without buying anything new for me.

I would assume this applies to ALL purchases, right? How would you go about giving gifts for birthdays and Christmas, etc.? I don't know about everyone else, but I don't know how I would feel about receiving a gift that wasn't 'new' and I definately wouldn't give something I bought second-hand.
