Oh Jenny Jenny.

Ok, so I remained somewhat calm. I told the director what happened, and she acknowledged that she knew about this in the past. I asked what she intended to do to stop this, and she got a very blank look on her face. She then said " Well, I really don't know what I CAN do? Are you aware the U.S. Constitution gives us freedom of speech?" I assured her that while I may be a housewife with cheerios in her hair, I went to law school, and am very intimate with the U.S. Constitution. I went on to explain that if she was going to play THAT game, then I had a fabulous idea.

Next week, the letter of the week is "S". My daughter will be bringing a picture of Santa Claus, and will explain to the class that Santa does NOT exist, and that he is a symbol of a commercial holiday. She will further explain to the children that their parents are Santa, and then give specific reasons why she knows this to be true. While some children will not believe her, it will certainly put doubt in their minds, and they will certainly go home with questions. I asked if her phones would ring off the hook with that one? She sat, mouth agape, not sure if I was serious of not ( I wasn't...lol)

She sat in silence for what seemed like eternity, and I swear I heard crickets chirping. She then asked what I Propose we do?

I told her I propose she have a talk with Jenny, and her guardians ( Who I found out from another parent last night, are her GRANDPARENTS as her father is unknown, and her mother a drug addict- poor child) and explain to them that this is inappropriate talk for children. I proposed that she explain to them that if this continues, Jenny will be asked to leave the program. I then reminded her that my daughters tuition was paid for by the STATE, ( she is enrolled in an early kindergarten readiness program) and that I am sure Channel 9 news would love to get their hands on this story.

" That won't be neccessary- we will speak to them immediately." was her answer.

So, we'll see what happens. Coincidentally, when I was leaving, Jenny was walking in the front door with her grandmother? And the grandmother smiled at me- and said "Goodmorning!" I replied with " Yes, it is!' and laughed all the way to the car.

I'll keep you updated.
