I loved reading all this information about everyone. Thanks for sharing such things about yourselves. I had a unique experience compared to others on here. My DH and I started dating in 1988, got married in 1989. I was 25. My first child was born (not to me) in 1984. I call him my Wedding Gift. My DH had sole custody of him since DS was 2 in 1987. My first natural pregnancy that went to term with a healthy baby boy was in 1993 when I was almost 29. We had been married 4 years with one miscarriage a year earlier.

Just a note.... my oldest is now 22 and I have never thought of him anything less than mine. He has called me mom from day one... his request and calls his birth mother by her given name, IF he talks to her at all. We have never said negative things to him about his birth mom and let him make his own judgements through the years.

A funny thing happened when he was 18, he went into the Navy (yes, I am a proud mom!) Right before this he called me and asked where I was born. I gave him the information. Then he started asking me more questions. I thought it was weird but I answered a few questions then asked why he was asking. He said he was filling out information for the Navy and needed information on his mom to verify citizenship and other things. I get teary even now thinking of this... I had to remind him I wasn't his birth mom. That was probably one of the proudest days in my life.
