Dh and I met thru Jerry the embezzler.
It was November 1993 and I was going to start doing my company's payroll and A/P. This guy (Jerry) came in and was going to set me up with a computer and software and train me. After a month or so he told me he had this friend who was my age and single and thought I'd be perfect for him. I told him thanks, but no...I was dating someone already (even tho it wasn't the best relationship...I had hoped it would work out) and wasn't really interested. Fast forward to Feb 14, 1994....I had broken up with my boyfriend over New Years (he wasn't going to take me out anywhere and was pissed that I'd go out without him....went with a guy from the garage below my apartment.....that's another story altogether! LOL) and told Jerry that I was ready to have him introduce me to his friend..if he was still single. Yep he was so he told him that I was interested and to call me. Little did I know the day before he called me (at work) he stopped in to see me at work. So the day he called, I was doing that day's deposit and we talked for awhile. (I had to count the deposit 5 times cause I was so worked up!
) We made a date for that Friday night at a local bar, he'd meet me there. Well, I got there first but had NO clue whom I was looking for! A few creepy guys were looking and smiling at me....God forbid any one of them came up to me (I was praying none of them were my date!)....luckily he came in at that moment and came right over to me. Wow...talk about love/lust at first sight!
He was so tall, dark hair and eyes, dimples......a super cutie. So we talked for hours, then he asked if I wanted to go for a ride in his truck. Ummm, yes! He took me to a park by the lake. He wanted to check out how frozen the lake was so I sat in the truck (I wasn't going to freeze!) while he walked out a ways on the lake. Came back to the truck where we made out for a LONG time
and then he took me back to the bar to get my car. I knew he was the one just from that night. After that we were inseperable. After about a year or so, I moved in with him and then a year after that we got engaged, and got married in June 1997. That's when we found out Jerry had embezzled thousands of dollars from his computer company (he and another guy started it) and left town. He's back in town now, we see him once in a while. We always laugh when we say that we got together cause of an embezzler....LOL
This June we'll celebrate our 10 year anniversary and we get to open our wedding time capsule. It'll be a special and tearful time for dh especially cause there is a letter from his mom in the time capsule and she passed away in 1999.
And we have 2 beautiful dd's, who are pretty good most of the time!
