My dd is feeling sad this year because she doesn't have a boyfriend and all her friends do, so she is getting a little extra from us. She lost her watch so dh bought her a new one and I had gotten her a Fossil change purse with hearts and put an Itunes card in it.

My opinion on sending gifts to the school - I was a teacher at a private school in Maryland for 7 years and never once did a child receive anything for a holiday or birthday delivered to the school. When we moved to Missouri 4 years ago, I worked in the office of a private school and was amazed that all these gifts would be delivered every holiday and every birthday. I had never even considered such a thing. But, because of my dd feeling left out, I went ahead and started sending something too. When she went into the public high school, I thought that would be the end of it...wrong! ... its even more important there. So every year (shes a junior now) I have sent her a flower from a "secret admirer"..she has fun with it.
