Definately not a bad mom! I'm sure we all have those days where we feel like the worst parent in the world - I know I do! It sounds like you handled the situation just fine.

I agree with the other person mentioned having the kids help clean up the mess. I have a 3 year old son (almost 4yo) and I know sometimes it's easier to just clean up yourself, but I think it's a better consequence - you fix the problem you caused...and they learn some cleaning skills.

I really looked forward to school being out and having my 9yo DD home. Well, mother nature decided we'd have lots of rain down here in TX instead of our sweltering hot summer so we've been stuck inside a lot. It looks like that's about to change so hopefully we can get outside more. Texas is making all the schools get on the same calendar so our kids actually have 3 full months of summer this year. They got out on May 25th and go back August 27th. Thank goodness I have a girls night out at least once a month...it is a lifesaver.
