My 11 yo doesn't care what brand he wears, or if they are used or not..as long as they look nice. I bought more used things (garage sales/goodwill) when he was small, but I almost never buy used clothing now. It is much harder to find his size at garage sales now since he wears men's sizes now. I just shop clearance racks, and buy when there is another extra percent off, and find it usually cheaper than buying used. My son wears mainly name brand stuff (Aeropostal, Gap, Old Navy) since I can find it so cheap. I got my son a few pairs of really nice jeans at the Gap last week for $4.99 on clearance...and they cost more than that at Goodwill for used yucky jeans. I also recently got him really thick, warm "hoodies" at Aeropostal on clearance for under $5 each. They will be great for this winter. And most of his school clothing came from Gap & Old Navy clearance racks last week for only a few dollars per piece...WAY CHEAP

Much better deals than I ever find on nice used stuff.
