I live in CC - welcome to my city & I hope you & your family have a great vacation! The Shell Factory on old US 41 in North Ft Myers has a some shopping available, but (IMO) is really geared more towards kids - they have a petting zoo, kiddie rides, etc. They do have the old "Waltzing Waters" show that used to be the huge attraction in the Cape back when they were first selling land here. I believe the show is in the evening (it is pretty, but needs to be seen in the dark to get the full effect - kind of like the laser light show at Epcot), not sure if they do it every evening or not, and I know there's a charge to just walk through the gates of the Shell Factory even if you do nothing but smell the animals...lol!

The Edison Home is (again, IMO) a must see. I've lived here 19 yrs and have been there probably a dozen times, not counting Christmas time each year when they decorate the grounds for Holiday House - absolutely beautiful! You can get discounted tickets through AAA too.

If you like nature-type things, there's Eco Park off Del Prado. Kayak/canoe rental available, nice boardwalk that goes a ways out over the river so you can see mangroves and wildlife. Really peaceful park. On weekends they sometimes have native plant sales there too.

SunSplash is the local water park - pretty decent, you can grab an inner tube and spend the whole day floating around the Lazy River if you want! I think they're only open on weekends in Sept. and they have a senior discount on admission.

My brain is fading - if you have any questions please feel free to PM me - I'll be glad to help. Kathy
