Shopping? Miramar Outlet in Estero, right off I75 (about 25 miles south of here) and Tangier Outlet in Ft Myers (south on Summerlin, not too far before you hit Sanibel - btw, there's a $6 toll to cross the causeway to Sanibel now, in case you decide to go there!). And can't forget the fleamarket! Fleamaster's (in Ft Myers) open Fri, Sat, and Sun is the biggest and the best around. There's a lot of new shopping and restaurants here in the Cape but I haven't hit them all yet since I work in Ft Myers.
Eats? Gotta remember this is what I think - my kids don't agree w/all of them! lol! Shrimp Shack on Pine Island Rd is good (next door to Carrabba's), little bagel shop right across the side street there has really good bagels too. My all time favorite restaurant (even my kids have loved it since they were little!) is Farmer's Market in Ft Myers, on Edison Ave. Down home country cookin that can't be beat. So packed at lunchtime you pretty much can't get a table unless you're there really early or really late. Breakfast is good, but the "real" country cookin food is lunch and dinner. If you like chicken livers and you're there on the day they have them, you'll think you've died and gone to heaven...lol! If you like Mexican, gotta try Iguana Mia on Cape Coral Pkwy - it's really good too. Hope this all helps some!
