My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Piccoult was good; also Memory Keeper's Daughter (I think that's the name of it); I couldn't get into Water for Elephants, although I should try again - I've heard it's so good.

both the Kite Runner and Thousand Splendid Suns were great; I haven't seen the Kite Runner movie yet.
