OMG!! I'm fixin' to get up on my soapbox and rant.
What I'm reading here is partially what's wrong with the crude prices. Supply and demand!! Until driving habits are changed and the demand goes down, crude prices are going to stay as is. Of course, I'm hoping getting Bush out of office will help the crude situation dramatically. I remember back in the '70's when the nation was in a gasoline crisis. The speed limit was lowered to 55 MPH as gas mileage improves with lower RPM's. My Equinox SUV gets better gas mileage at 2000 RPM's or less which means going no higher than 65 MPH and 60 MPH is better. Cut out the jackrabbit starts and stops. It pains me to see the drivers that think they have to be the first one to the next traffic signal. They're just wasting gasoline.
I no longer go out just to be going out for something to do. I can't afford it. DH likes to go out looking at the sporting goods stores. Go to W-M for nothing in particular or just for a few items. We no longer do that. No special trips to the library. The library is located within a block of school so we go right after school. If I absolutely need a grocery item, I go to the closer grocery store although it is higher priced than W-M. The higher price is less than if I drove farther to go to W-M.
Oh, forgot to add......$2.99 is the dominant price.
I paid $2.94
