| who knows about stomach problems?
UPDATED~~Well, we found out it is acid reflux! I never realized, but it is more than just "indigestion". A co-worker of mine says she has it and it is just awful when you get a flare up. Pressure and pain in the stomach, chest and throat. He is on zantac 2x a day (morning and night) and seems to be doing a great deal better.
Thanks for all of your input!
My son, who is 10 years old, has had recurring stomach problems for years. He was just recently tested for celiac disease -which was negative, and we have have tried zantac and lactaid in case it was acid reflux or lactose intolerance (all on the advice of his pediatrician). Well, the stomach pain comes and goes so much it is very hard to pinpoint. Yesterday I was called at work from his school nurse saying his stomach hurt so badly he was weepy (which for him is VERY unusual, especially at school). He had a slight temp elevation and I came and got him. He was hungry and ate lots of popsicles and never did throw up or anything. It hurt today and I kept him home and he is just eating like a piggy! So I don't believe it is a flu type of bug, as with him he never wants to eat when he is sick. He says it hurts above his belly button (and it was tender to my touch)and up into his chest. He says it feels like someone is pushing on it. No diarrhea, no vomiting, not really any gas to speak of. Does anyone have any ideas?
TIA
