Since the DoNotCall registry we don't get near as many as we used to and the tip off is always the fact that they can't pronounce my last name. I usually just cut them short with "Not interested" and hang up.
The one call I always take is from the local Search and Rescue when they sponser a show locally to raise funds. I always buy tickets and ask that they be handed out at the local Boys and Girls club.
But that is probably self serving or a form of knocking on wood.
We do a lot of offroad exploring and hiking and just might need S & R one day.
