Marilyn Manson was 90's goth, with Nine Inch Nails, and a bunch of other groups I should probably remember, but don't. Anyway, that all boiled down to clothes, bad eyeliner, and a tendency to hang around smoking and moping. I don't think anyone committed any crimes in the name of Closer, but I know parents hated it. I tended more to the mod thing, so I got away with that.

The emo thing does involve girl pants, and it does involve whiny music, but I don't think it's hurting anyone either. It doesn't seem to involve as much smoking, or nail polish, and I'm not aware of any problems with emo gangs. Just as well, since there aren't too many colors they could use. Have any generations passed without at least a few bad fads?
