I discovered "boy shorts" a few years ago and love them. I do wear just about everything else too though. With the exception of granny panties, way to much fabric.
On a side note, I'm a plus size girl too and I wear thongs. The trick is not buying the cheap ones. The only ones that fit right usually cost a more. I don't know why but they do.
