For everyday things like clothes, etc, I throw the receipts into a wire basket in the bedroom closet and fish it out if need be. I go thru it every couple of years and toss out what I don't need.

For things that have a warranty, I have a folder we put them in. I also scan the receipt into my computer and then I have a digital image if I lose the original. There is a system that does this (Neat Recieipts I think...) but I just do it myself.
