For those who have joint accounts, as do DH and myself, be aware of the wording on your accounts. We specifically set up ours as "Mr." OR "Mrs." on the imprint. So many people have "Mr." AND "Mrs." imprinted. If one of the spouses dies, that account will be frozen if it says "and" rather than "or". The "or" will allow you to keep writing checks after your spouse dies.
