A good friend of mine's husband passed away last week (pancreatic cancer) and the visitation is today. I have to go, but he was also the mayor of our town. That means the place is going to be packed and we'll probably have to wait in a long, long line out in the heat and humidity. I really don't want to go! I know I have to, to be supportive, but I never know what to say in those situations. I need to be home making pickles and drying parsley, basil, and sage. There's probably plenty of green beans that need to be frozen.
