I don't get asked much. If I do, it's my 7 year old and it's always as I am in the middle of preparing dinner. It's usually obvious what I am making so I say "guess.." and that works. I don't ask what anyone wants. I know the answer I'll get "I don't know" or "I don't care" . I know better than to set myself up for anger like that. So, if they don't want what I cook, they don't have to eat it. At least 2 times a week my kids are helping me cook so no need to really ask what we are having and DH is getting home right before we eat. DH cooks breakfast and never asks what anyone wants either so I guess I should say it's not a battle at our house
