Maybe that is how most people take it. I just don't understand why there is no phrase like "black trash" if there is "white trash"...
I don't think there should be *any* trash - that phrase really makes my skin crawl. I just always wondered why the "white" before it.

And I never knew about the word "uppity" in different regions. I had the same "Nellie Olsen" image in my head with that one before this thread.
