Edited to add....OK, according to Wikipedia (take that with a grain of salt) the Wilson Sisters are co-writers along with band member Roger Fisher. So I have no clue who has the say-so here...lol "Barracuda" was played at the 2008 Republican National Convention in reference to McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, who was known as "Sarah Barracuda" as a high school basketball star. The Wilson sisters disapproved, claiming that they disagreed with Palin's politics,[3] and sent a cease-and-desist letter to John McCain's campaign. [4] Song co-writer Roger Fisher announced he was "thrilled" with the RNC's use of the song, both because it generated royalties and because it gave him and other band-members an opportunity to voice their support for Barack Obama.[5] Even after Heart expressed their desire that McCain stop using their song, the McCain campaign continued using it, noting that they were paying all licensing fees.[6] | He cannot use this song without the permission of the Wilson sisters. They have expressed their opposition and delivered a cease and desist order. Here's another Republican who regards himself as above the law.
