And y'know, their ideology being all about their race doesn't threaten you just because you're of another race. They're not saying "Commitment to the Black Community and Destruction of the White Community", and I think that the bit about forswearing anti-intellectualism is brilliant, particularly considering the last 8 years...and take one look at the inner city schools in D.C., Baltimore, Chicago, etc to see how much more of a challenge that is for Black kids than White ones.

I say there's absolutely nothing to be threatened by there...no violence, no hatred, just people helping themselves and isn't that what the Republicans want???

I can see your points, and to a degree agree with much of what you said. I disagree with your Miss Black America point tho. Can a white woman enter that pageant??? If not, then it is NOT the same. There have been black Miss America's in the "regular" Miss America pageant.

I'm not sure I am following your analogy on the anti-intellectualism thing, tho. I think poor is poor, no matter of the color. Many of the children in inner-cities are poor. I don't see where the skin color comes in.

Yes, the Republicans want people to help themselves, but, I don't think they want to perpetuate the racial issue. IMO, churches or anyone else that continually dwell on the wrongs of the past, using them as excuses for the current day, are doing just that.
