ITA that it depends on your frame of reference. I have always worked in an office situation with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc., and wouldn't dream of calling any of those individuals by their last name. I have referred to individuals by their last name on occasion on this board but always feel "off" when I do. One of my rare letters to a TV station was about a newscaster who repeatedly referred to President Clinton as Clinton. P'd me off big time but I've noticed it has become a quite frequent occurrence and I've tried to "get over it". Maybe need to lighten up and stop channeling my grandmother who taught us our manners.
