What was Tommy's relationship to you? Your post doesn't say whether he was a friend or relative.

I read the article about that poor child's struggles and I think there's an extremely odd choice of words written.

"Thomas Alan Gosser's "exciting and traumatic adventure" with cancer ended Monday.

I've known numerous people with cancer and I have never heard anyone who has suffered from that horrible disease refer to their traumatic experience as an "exciting adventure". I read that Tommy referred to it as 'an adventure" (and that's a wonderful outlook) but exciting? Calling cancer 'an exciting adventure' has to be the epitome of positive spin. May Tommy rest in peace.
