I think that sometimes, people who are caucasian are held to a bit of a different standard for what they might say, KWIM?
I've often got "wow, you're from the South and your aren't a bigot (or redneck)". But, if I walked up to a group of young black men and said "wow, you're black and you aren't out playing basketball"--how do think that would be received?
