Yet, he was the only person in the administration who could make a credible case for a war against Iraq. Why he decided to go before the U.N. and present those blatant falsehoods is something that we will probably never know. He has described that day as the lowest point in his life.

He really is a tragic figure.

I do agree with that. He was definitely the fall guy. That is part of the reason that I think he has an axe to grind. . .rightly so maybe.
