Even before the high price of oil, I usually kept our furnace at about 68. I rarely turned it above that. Now, we have a pellet stove, so that has helped me to be able to lower it down to 60. I will be curious to see how much money the Pellet Stove saves us this winter. We have 3/4 of a tank of oil right now, and I am hoping the next time they bring oil (I have $200 delivered every two weeks) it will be full. Last winter I was paying at least $400 a month to heat the house. We bought two tons of Pellets that cost us $400. I am hoping they get us thru the winter. There are many people that are scared about making it through the winter. Maine winters can be brutal...
