I understand the need to cut the corporate tax rate.

We have the second highest corporate tax rate, second to japan. When you figure in all factors, our corporate tax rate is 39.3%.

Heck, 24 of our 50 states have a higher corporate tax rate than the highest ranking Japan.

There is no incentive tax-wise for business to come to the U.S. Some places have a corporate tax rate of just 15%. That is where the jobs are going.

McCain wants to bring the corporate tax rate down to try to entice new business in the U.S. which will create more jobs. Which in turn will help everyone and the economy.

His health care plan of giving refundable tax credits of $5000 to families and $2500 to singles (to everyone no matter what they make) with the money being sent directly to the insurance provider will make it possible for darn near everyone to have some sort of health insurance, which in turn will save big bucks that are spent on the health of the uninsured. He wants to increase the standard dependent exemption by $500 dollars a year til it tops out at $7000.

When I look at the two contenders tax plans, as a the owner of two businesses, I feel that McCain's is more in lines with the needs of our companies. As it stands right now, with the economy the way it is and the taxes as they are, we have had to cut back on our full time staff and spending. We can not take the chance on spending money on expansion and improvements that should be done, as it is too much of a gamble at this point. There is no incentive to do so.

Our largest expense, next to payroll, is the benefits we pay in health insurance for our full time workers. Something has got to give.

With all that said, I am still undecided on who to vote for. I wish we had another choice.
