You're lucky you aren't in my smaller town. Here, you would have made the front page news! LOL I loved your story and I honestly don't know how you kept it together (or the policeman for that matter! Too funny!)! Glad you didn't have to go to the hospital, can't you just see yourself in an episode of ER?! Dressed like a mouse lying on the gurney?! The bandaid is priceless--glad I'm not the only one with a twisted sense of humor! May have to 'borrow' your costume idea next year if it's ok! Tks. for the laugh. Hope your car insurance takes good care of everything for you also. While the woman you 'hit' didn't see the humor in the situation (I do understand why of course though), can't you just imagine the faces on each person she told the story to!!!

Just wanted to add that I'm totally not making light of getting hit from behind as it has happened to me and I know there can be long term consequences that might not even show up immediately. When I was 19 I was hit square on the bumper so hard by a 15 year old with no license that their car actually bounced back off of my vehicle (I was stopped waiting to turn left in traffic (I saw they were going to hit me and had my foot on the brake hard--probably not the best thing to do but it was on a 4 lane busy highway and I thought I'd be hit and thrown into oncoming traffic), they were going at least 40 and I assume started to brake when they realized they were going to hit me). While there was no damage to my vehicle that I could see (I was in a Ford Ranger), nor damage to her car, I insisted that the police be called (the 15 year old begged me not to call and all bystanders thought I was a 'sad sport' for doing so--of course they were all teenagers lol. Turned out the 15 year old girl driving the car was the police chief's daughter, the officer did NOTHING, didn't site her for driving w/out a license, insurance, etc. Was a rude arse to me, etc. I'm 38 now and have had back issues on and off pretty much ever since. A few years ago I was even unable to get out of the bed without help for 2 months. When it gets bad, it gets bad. So, while I can appreciate the humor in the blind mouse situation above, I didn't mean to downplay the seriousness at all of hitting another vehicle, or person, etc. I totally agree also that if you already have a pre-existing condition, especially something like chronic back pain or an injury to the neck or back, etc., being tapped even lightly could/would more than likely send you back into pure hell again.
