And I am going to agree with everyone, 4 moths is really early to start solids.
My doctor told me that even when they start on food, they will still get the majority of their nutrition and calories from the formula/breast milk. At this age, they are really just getting the feel of foods, and how to chew, etc.

There is a great book called "What to expect the toddler years" and "What to expect the first year". You may want to check out a copy of these from the library, or maybe your DD has a copy. They are a great help.
