I think that *some* people are having issue (like us) because we put some money into savings and some into stock. We are not "put all of your eggs in one basket" kind of people. Therefore, we don't have all we should because the stock took a dump.

I don't think most people have any savings. I know lots of paycheck to paycheck people. Why save for tomorrow when you can live today? Not *my philosophy but it rings true for many
