Assuing that's the case, can you IMAGINE what an uproar that would cause in a public school? Would you want to be the teacher in front of the class with secret service agents in the back of the room or right outside the door? That wouldn't be fair to the teacher OR to the other students who have to deal with that disruption.
If I had kids I wouldn't want them going to public school with the kids of the president, no matter WHO the president was. I think a private school would be much better equipped to deal with the unique situation of educating the children of the leader of the free world. |
Actually that is exactly what the secret service agents do. They sit in the classroom with the students. They have a place in the school because there is usually more than one. I live in the area. One of my fellow teachers had one of the vice president's son in her son's homeroom at one of the Catholic High Schools in DC. I have taught children of secret service agents who have protected the president or previous presidents and their families. One of my former student's father still protects Nancy Reagan.
