What do you do to help you relax when you are genuinely scared of something?
Thanks. |
First of all, if you know your stuff, then be confident because you WILL do a GREAT job!
Second, use humor to break the ice and get everyone connected, even if that humor is nothing more than making fun of yourself and how nervous you are. I gave a paper at a technical conference once where I told the audience that I had a full script of my presentation, so if I passed out from fright would someone please come up and resume the talk.

I won a "Best of Conference" award for that paper presentation....this from a girl who used to break out iin hives and had to wear a turtleneck to hide it whenever I got in front of people.
