We had a Chevy Corsica about 20 years ago. The transmission went out, of course, just after the warranty expired-the car was only 3 years old. I brought it into the dealership, thinking I would be responsible for the bill. Luck was on my side-when I was signing in the car, I stated the problem. There was a mechanic right there behind the cashier. Once I told her the problem, the mechanic stated, "Must be a 1990 Corsica." It was not under recall at that point, but once I heard that statement, I was determined that I would not pay for the repair. I fought it w/ the dealership, and they fought it w/ Chevy, and it was taken care of at no charge to me. If you think you are being wronged, try to fight it. The dealerships don't want the bad rep. It's worth a shot.
