The only question is will the same media who got him elected, actually do any real investigative reporting. I doubt it. I hope he has a successful FOUR years as President. I hope our country remains safe and that our economy turns around. I hope that he was able to thrive in that cesspool of corruption and remained clean.
Speaking of doing no wrong. Funny, I don't remember cries of indignation over all the "odd" ties and dealings that "the shrub" has been involved with. There are so many and I know it's hard to keep track of them all. But there were all the companies that he somehow set up with no money of his own, prior to being elected to anything. Companies that invariably ran into financial problems and that were frequently the recipients of large sums of money from one of Daddy Bush's friends. There was the strange dealings with the baseball team that when he first became involved, he was gifted 2%, but without any money of his own being put into it, had somehow accrued 12% when it was sold at something 4 or 5 times the estimated value. And in more recent times, his lies about Iraq and starting an unprovoked war, his mishandling of Iran and Korea, his promise to fire anyone involved with the Valerie Plame incident, such as Cheney, and then not doing so, his ignoring the Geneva Convention, allowing renditions and torture, his mismanagement of Walter Reed, hurricane Katrina, and wiretapping of American citizens, doing away with habeas corpus, putting total incompetents in many positions of power, bypassing the will of the people with his signing statements, which I understand are perhaps in the thousands, awarding no bid contracts to Haliburton and others. And I know I've forgotten some really big ones. He is so overwhelmingly corrupt and/or incompetent that it boggles the mind. Obama will have to go a long way to even come close to the record of the current POTUS.

As for the media. That same media is the one that has basically given Bush a pass for 8 years. There are, few if any, true investigative reporters left.

My hope is that now that there is a Dem in office that the justice department will start looking at corruption in areas other than those that are heavily Democratic. Even though we are about the get a Dem Gov, they should feel free to start right here in Missouri. I'm pretty sure there are good pickings here from the current administration. I think there are a few other southern and midwestern states that could stand a little scrutiny too.
