Furthermore, how long is a medical facility required to keep records? I know that when I have to request prior records for one of my work comp claimants--10 years is typical. Sometimes, if a person has treated with the same provider or through the same medical system--you can get further back; But, I don't know if a hospital would keep the records of a birth from 40+ years ago.....
