I have a bridge phobia that started when we were visiting Florida, we came across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and the next day it was run into and collapsed this was the original span not the new one that was built in the mid-80's. I believe that would have been around 1979-1980 when we were there. The whole thing freaked me out big-time and I could not go across bridges after that without having panic attacks, usually I would have to duck down in the backseat when Daddy came to bridge crossings. To this day I still have issues with bridges but its getting better especially since I went across the one to Kill Devil Hills NC in the fog Dec 27th and came home with a clear view and did not panic at all. |
I totally for got about thunderstorms and bridges. DH is a weather spotter in our town. He took me out ONCE in a T-storm. I'm surprised he has an arm left from me squeezing it.
As for bridges.....I really hate going over them. I have no idea why they scare me so much. I can tolerate driving over them but walking over them....Well...We won't even go there. Also hate enclosed places and elevators. DH chuckles when we're in one. I'm like a scolded child since I stand with my head in the corner.
