I tried doing this, but I would forget, get angry that something wasn't working and storm out to the garage to check the fuse box and then I would remember I unpluged everything. I sseriously would stand there forever trying to make my appliances/electronics work. It wasn't worth the frustration for me. I do turn down my heat at night and when we leave the house.
