The kids did what they were supposed to do, the way I read this -get away from the stranger making them feel uncomfortable and tell parents/an adult. That is the way it should be.

Reinforce to the kids they did right, and for them to keep being vigilant.

Otherwise, I think all that can be done is to keep a sharper eye out and check the sexual offender list. Of course, the guy doesn't have to have a record, it means he hasn't been caught - if he is a predator.
