That's what I am talking about! A 15 yr old should be able to navigate somewhere safely. That is what you teach them. My son grew up here nothing like SF and he could go anywhere on public transportation at 15. Even the kids who live in the country out here can navigate public transportation.
I didn't mean to sound mean but if your child is of average development and cannot take a cab at 15 there is a problem.
Now whether you want them to go or not might be a problem too. A parent's job is to teach your children to live without you and at 15 that time is just around the corner. Unless we are talking about going to or coming from a very dangerous place the only thing that would bother me is the fare.
