I didn't mean to sound mean but if your child is of average development and cannot take a cab at 15 there is a problem.

Now whether you want them to go or not might be a problem too. A parent's job is to teach your children to live without you and at 15 that time is just around the corner. Unless we are talking about going to or coming from a very dangerous place the only thing that would bother me is the fare.

again.....I already said, though....she is capable, but I don't want her to and she has no need. I have never been in a cab, but I am quite capable of surviving. Being able to take care of yourself has nothing to do with a taxi ride. BTW, I have two grown children with their own kids that never rode a cab and they do quite well.
