I think the crime rate in New Orleans is pretty high compared to national averages. Not only that, but post-Katrina when people from New Orleans were relocated to other cities, those cities saw their violent crime rates, homicide in paricular, increase! Maybe that's part of why gg isn't comfortable with her DD taking a cab or public transportation....
