I really don't see how what she really said makes her a racist: "would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."
I believe her remark was in answer to a very specific question -- not a sweeping generalization.
I'm on my way out the door so I can't find it now but I will look it up later.
