I am asking less about the self checkout and more about the new system where you scan and bag as you shop the aisles. Nonetheless, the person who oversees the self-checkout is often multi-tasking and can't see everything....and failing to scan things on the bottom of the cart is relatively "easy" way to steal as I saw on Friday. It's probably easy to steal lightweight items too....
