| Talk to me about the Kindle
Okay, so I've wanted a Kindle since they first came out. After reading review after review at Amazon, I'm still a little confused and would love to have your thoughts on any experience you might have with one.
I'm fascinated with the idea of being able to download a book in 60 seconds or less, and read it whenever I want. I'm fascinated about being able to listen to music while I read. I love to idea of Amazon keeping an electronic copy of all the kindle edition books I purchase, so that I can re-download them later if I wish.
Things I'm confused about:
1. Can you add additional memory?
2. Can you email a kindle edition book to someone else with a kindle, thus "sharing" your library, like you might with a "real" book?
3. Can you really read in the sunlight? Or is the glare too bad? I take a ferry back and forth to one of my jobs and being able to read my kindle on the ferry would be a big plus.
4. What accessories would you recommend? Which are useless?
5. With the wireless connection, can you go anywhere on the internet? Or just to Amazon and Wiki-Pedia?
6. My understanding is that the wireless signal is much like a signal for a cell phone...NOT like a wireless laptop signal, for example. Is this correct? In other words, will I be able to access the wireless connection pretty much anywhere? That's what Amazon seems to be saying with their "wireless map", but I wanted a real-life answer.
7. With being able to load music onto the kindle, is it feasible that I could replace an ipod with the kindle? And have my books and my music too?
8. Which version is better, the DX or the Kindle II? Why?
Thanks so much for your opinions!
