Let's make it a triple!

I'm anxious to hear what the 'story behind the story' is here. A lot of things crossed my mind, from (as was mentioned before) that something is wrong with her youngest to something being wrong with her, medically, and.... well, her kids still seem to be fair game for nastiness and she may have reached her limit. She's in a position, personally, that is probably more overwhelming than she envisioned it would be, with two babies in the home, one of them with special needs... and I think that while before her oldest daughter had given birth she probably envisioned things being a certain way, they may have panned out much differently. From what little I've seen of the baby's father's family, they appear to have some issues, and it's possible that as a family they are having to juggle visitation issues in ways that are very difficult and distracting, and it may not be working to be governor *and* mom.

Who knows?

I know the Palins do fine financially from what we were told during the campaign - certainly not living on Obama-level cash, but having much more to their names than they had just a few short years ago. However, if this information is correct... ouch. That's gotta pinch to have had to spend $500,000 defending herself against charges that so far haven't panned out to have merit.

"In Alaska, she saw her popularity wane this year after returning from the presidential campaign. She's become a polarizing figure, which in turn has led to multiple ethics complaints filed against her with the state personnel board.

All but two of the 15 complaints have been dismissed with no findings of wrongdoing, although one complaint led to Palin's agreement to reimburse the state about $8,100 for costs associated with trips taken with her children. The state says it has spent nearly $300,000 to investigate the complaints, and Palin says she has racked up more than $500,000 in legal fees fighting them. "
